Aide is an early-stage health technology company that helps patients and their clinicians better understand and manage chronic disease, tackling a challenge that costs the NHS £50bn and the US health system $1tr each year. We want people to spend less time being held back or worrying about their health and more time living their lives.
Aide has been created in partnership with some of the UK’s leading doctors, clinicians and pharmacists alongside patient groups over the past two years. Our service connects a browser-based tool for the clinician (enabling the creation and remote monitoring of Health Plans for chronic disease) with a mobile app for the patient, which serves as a 24/7 companion through prescribed care. Using natural language, Aide has short, daily conversations with patients to provide medicines optimisation, structured monitoring and structured education.
We believe in the power of the clinical workforce alongside a patient’s ability to self-care.
We’re looking for an engineer who understands what makes digital products great. They see their role as much more than picking up tickets and writing code. This person is pragmatic and able to work in a cross-functional team with a desire to solve big, ambiguous challenges that can help improve the lives of millions of people. They are excited by the opportunities an early-stage startup provides and want to grow with the company.
In the first instance, we want this person to develop an Android version of the Aide patient app, so they must feel confident in delivering this project. However, we also have an iOS app, React web applications, Ruby/Rails and Go services. Therefore, experience with (or a desire to learn) new technologies is a must.
Lastly, this role requires attention to detail in translating design into a working application. We want to set the absolute highest standards of experience design for health technology and are looking to work with someone who cares as much about pixels and interactions as the code itself.
If the mission of Aide excites you, but you don’t have exactly the skills detailed below, please get in touch, as we are excited to meet ambitious and multidisciplinary engineers who want to make an impact.
